One Year Ago Today

Today we celebrated Seth's first ever Family Day (one year since he came home :o) Glenn cooked Mexican food to celebrate with, and we sang, "Happy Family Day to you" ALL DAY long it seems! Of course Seth knows nothing much about this all at his age (21 months), but he still enjoyed himself! Here's an email I sent out to a couple of groups I'm on:

It was one year ago today that Cala, newly arrived Ethan (he had been here 3 and a half weeks) and I drove to a hotel to await Glenn and baby Seth's arrival from Guatemala! Seth was 9 months old. Both Glenn AND Seth were sick as dogs! Seth was feeling better overall, but Glenn was very very sick. I remember them arriving at the hotel, Glenn saying, "Here's the baby", and going to bed! He was so sick! Glenn proceeded to collapse on the bed and the baby didn't want anything to do with Mama. After all, he had only seen me for one week back when he was 5 months old, so he had since forgotten dear 'ol Mom.

Over the past year, this baby has become such a joy to me! He's a stinker, he's a bully to his older brother (loving to irritate big brother since he knows that Ethan is a tender heart and will usually do nothing about it!), he's soooo very cute, melting your heart with a smile. He can get into stuff (which he constantly does!!!), and then look at me, flash his teeth and do this thing with his right eye that looks like he's winking at me. It melts me and he knows it! ha

He's so many things to me, but most all, I am truly blessed to have this baby boy be my son.

HAPPY FAMILY DAY! It sounds like you really had your hands full this time last year...and now your heart sounds even full-er.
